What's a good idea for an original comedy monologue?

  i find that comedy can come through teh most mundance of things - i once wrote a great little piece about being something else and what life was like as that thing. That seemed to work for a lot of people in my group - we had potatoes, Mother Earth, a park bench - all kinds of things - imagining what it is like to be that thing and what the strengths and weaknesses, challenges and enjoyments and ambitions of those things are. Mine was hte potato - not just any potato - but an organic potato - its ambitions was to be a jacket potato because the thought of sour cream oozing all over its lumps and bumps was the pinnacle of what a potato could ever be. Thats an example - but choose something and just start trying ideas - get some feedback from someone you trust and respect. Sometimes the comedy is purely in the way you say a word or the words you choose. Or find something you feel passionate about and take the opposing view - often lots of comedy in taking the mick out of something or telling the truth about the way we as humans cover up what we really think - look at stand up comedians.
