  I've never once used a treble hook for Catfishing. I don't like using them because they tend to get lodged in awkward places and are just hard to get out of the mouth of a Catfish without doing damage a lot of times (I'm a catch and release fisherman). I very rarely miss fish when using a normal hook, but normal can mean a few different things to different people. You won't want to use a regular Bass hook for example. A Catfish won't have much of a problem bending it with as hard as they fight. I use hooks designed for Catfish, but they aren't treble hooks. They are an off set steel hook.
