What could be causing this Allergic reaction to chinese food?

  • I've been ordering House fried rice for years. The last two times I've ate it, it has given me a rash around my mouth. What could be causing it all of a sudden?

    Call the resaurant and ask them if they have changed the ingredients. It may be something theyre putting in it. If not, maybe you just develpoed an allergy. Sometimes you can not be allergic to something one day, and the next you become allergic. It just happens.

MSG is a common ingredient in fried rice. And it is known to cause reactions like that. But it seems unusual that they would start adding it to the rice after all these years. You don't eat the rice alone I guess so maybe it is another dish that you had not previously eaten. Or it is possible that now you are sensitive to MSG when 2 weeks ago you were not.Keep a food diary to see what you ate when the reaction occured.soon you will see a pattern and figure it out
