What to do with Direct TV receivers and remotes?

Two comcast receivers two remotes 1 tv how can I do this with out it changing the other receivers channel?

  • I have two comcast digital receiver DVR's. They are being used on one tv. Is there anyway to purchase something to keep the remotes seprate? So if I'm watching or recording on ...show more

  • Answer:

Get some polarizing film. Observing the orientation of the film, place matching pieces of film over one remote's IR transmitter and one DVR's IR receiver. Take two more pieces of film, turn them 90° from the first set, and place them over the second remote and the second DVR. Just remember to hold your remotes parallel to the ground (i.e., don't twist them around their long axis) when sending commands. General disclaimer: I haven't tried this. But it might work if all else fails.
