  Konica / Minolta without a doubt. Their entry level 2500w has 2400 x 600 resolution. This unit retails for under $300. You have to spend $1400 with HP before you get to that quality. Their 5550 model has 9600 x 600 resolution, and prints on all sizes of paper but the 11 x 17 ledger size. It has a price tag of about $999, but is well worth the money when you see the product. The 7450 has a $2900 price tag, but is definately one of, if not the best, product in it's class. Except for their 2500 series of printer, they are Mac compatable. They are also all network printers, so there is none of the b.s. that you have to deal with, with HP. If you are looking fo a little smaller price tag, they have the 5430 and the 5440. www.konicaminolta.com will give you all of their selection. I am a sales rep for a midsize technology center, and can tell you first hand that K/M has the best printers that I have seen, sold, and used. They make all of their own parts including their toner.
