White squares on my monitor?

I AM HAVING HORRIBLE PROBLEMS WITH MY MONITOR, SUPERIMPOSING AND BLACK OUT SQUARES.?

  • My start bar turns black into black squares on spots and parts of the screen show superimposed lettering. My display options, etc are not unusual, how do I fix this???????????

    The first thing to do is to make sure it's the monitor. Connect your monitor to another computer. If the problem persists, replace the monitor. If it's back to normal, replace your defective video card. If you don't have a video card, go get one and install it. This will bypass the faulty video section of your motherboard and get you back to normal.
