Why did my ipod touch OTHER section take up so much space?

Yesterday, the Other section on my ipod touch was less than 1gb. I have a 16gb ipod touch. Today when i plugged it in, it deleted all my songs, then my Other section turned to take ...show more

While you delete your songs from your iPod touch, they are not actually completely erased physically from the memory... The information about their location is deleted so that you cant access it and you think they are deleted.. I don't know. I would call Customer Service and ask them, for some reason a lot of iPods are starting to not work right and stuff. Thanks!
