How do you remove the stand connected to the bottom of an LCD TV?

Did you check if there are several recessed holes where there may be screws still holding the base? If there are, you will have to remove those screws as well before the remaining part can come off. My LG 32" LCD has a base stand which slots into the part that screws into the LCD TV with a bit jutting out. That part had 4 screws that were recessed.
