How to view freeview channels?

Why can't I watch BBC channels on Freeview ?

  • I recently re-tuned my DVD recorder with built in Freeview and now it won't let me view ANY BBC channels. It picks up the programme guide info but shows no picture and says ...show more

  • Answer:

I've always believed the switch to digital is because they want to scramble the signal of those who don't pay the TV licence. This isn't possible with analogue. It's just suspicious to me that the US has had digital TV since the 70's and only now are we embracing it.

you may need to reset it and re tune again. it can be a nuisance but try all you can and then call that digi man and ask.

Don't understand what you mean by "All channels have tuned thereself into 'CH26" Digital channels are broadcast in bunches or bouquets. So for example, in my area all the BBC channels are on channel 27. So are you saying that your freeview has only tuned channel 26? If this is the case then your only getting a handful of channels I assume. Try a full fresh install, there's usually the option on most freeview tuners. If this does not work I would begin to suspect a signal problem. Are you using a wide band digital aerial? Or did you just plug into the thing that's been on your roof for the past 20 years. If so, time for a decent aeriel. P.S. Dave, you are mad!! you cant deactivate individual freeview tuners.
