How do I calculate how much is my employees' salary going to cost the company (in the US)?
-
Let's assume I'm paying a developer $80,000 per year. How much would the company's expense actually be, roughly? I'm putting together a business plan but have no idea about US accounting. In Europe companies end up paying at least 10% more than that for some mandatory benefits
-
Answer:
Add 10% to cover Social Security (6.2%), Medicare (1.45%), unemployment (about 1%), and worker's compensation (about 1%). If you will offer health insurance, add $4K per year. Include one week vacation and 10 holidays.

I have never visited USA, I am from India... Instead of looking for cost benefit analysis - look for US Government laborĀ Web site for mandatory benefits for to be paid for an employee.
