Why do I have to keep signing in to view my yahoo mail. I'm already signed into the site and every time I log?

It is possible that you have a bad cache file. Clear your history, temporary files (be patient) & cookies, then restart the computer and retry. This HELP link has instructions: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/settings/settings-13.html . Once you've done that, sign in again and see if it holds this time. If not, you might have your browser set to delete cookies every time it closes, or to not accept cookies at all. Either of these may cause that problem, so you would need to fix that issue.
