US GPA's are cumulative, in the UK system the first two years generally don't matter that much. US schools are more liberal arts in their approach where you have to take courses in multiple fields as part of your general education requirements. US students take more courses at one time. The UK schools are more subject intensive and require less courses for a degree. UK schools have tutorials and grades are calculated in numbers not letters. For employment purposes, I would recommend getting your BA in the states and going to the UK for graduate school or doing a semester abroad.
