Looking for a Job in Marketing Field?

I don't have a marketing degree but have worked as a Marketing Assistant for the past year and a half, what are employers looking for?

  • Looking to create a resume that will land me a job in the marketing field, I am interested and passionate but would like to know what employers are looking for, in a fresh face to their company.

  • Answer:

Your resume should highlight what you're passionate about and what you've actually done.  A couple of examples: - I really like to help come up with creative ideas or assist I'm the creative process. Give examples of actual marketing campaigns you've worked on or creative portfolio if you have one. - I am more of a problem solver. Again, show what you've done and be specific about your contributions. The goal of the resume is not to get you the job of your dreams, but to merely get you to the next step of the hiring process which is the interview. That means that you should tailor your résumé to reflect the key words and phrases that are in the job description. One last thing. Don't fake anything. It will definitely come and bite you later down the line.
