Has anyone worked on a cruise ship?

  • Hi, i am really interested in working on a cruise ship, Does anyone have any advice about which cruise lines are the best to work for and which positions would be the best on ...show more

  • Answer:

Hi , you need to change your approach here. Cruise lines - like any other business is not hiring people because they want to pay them well, give them a lot of time off and has good hours to see destinations. First Question: What can you do ? In which field do you have experience = which position you can apply for. Or will you apply for the position of Manager in a hotel, when you are a trained mechanic ? And if you would do so, would the hotel hire you ? Most likely not. The job you are looking for is that of a Captain - and even there - it does not meet all your "wishes" In general you will work 10-15 hours a day for 7 days a week (no day off) in 2 or 3 shifts a day, for 6 to 10 months. This is basically the same for all cruise lines.....
