    You'll want your cellphone regardless, because you've got a trip to/from the port to keep entertained. ;) I would discourage bringing a laptop- it's 75 cents/minute added to your tab. Also, I honestly doubt that your nook will get much use while you're on the boat, unless you're a night-reader, or a poolside reader. There will always ALWAYS be something to do, especially if you're a teen, more so if you're socialable. Go to Vibe. Most nights, dinner is "cruise casual" meaning everything but shorts, flipflops, and tank tops, and one out of every three nights is "formal optional" which you should totally take advantage of! I've seen anything from cocktail dresses to prom dresses, but the Mickey standing outside the restaurant for pictures that night will be dressed in a tux, so dress accordingly. This is just something to note, but every cruise has a "pirate deck party" where you will eat a pirate themed meal regardless of what restaurant you're in, the characters will be decked out as pirates, there's a pirate show/fireworks display around the pool, and dessert/one of the pirates of the caribbean plays over the pool. It's not uncommon for people to bring their pirate gear (eyepatch, vest, hook etc- it's a fun night), but they usually provide you with a bandana at dinner. :)

Cruises do have cell phone service as well as internet service, BUT its VERY expensive (and slow). nook color is fine, just get the books BEFORE you leave, and keep the wifi OFF. Same with the cell phone, put it in airplane mode. I always bring mine, but only use it to know what time it is. Laptop is OK also if you want it for downloading your pictures to, or you have some games you can play OFF LINE. Again, dont try and connect to any wifi onboard, its expensive and slow. I personally leave the laptop at home. You should bring at least one, if not two outfits for formal nights. Usually on a 7 day cruise there is at least 2, plus a captains social.
