Food is always OK to bring on-board. Just the liquids. If you buy liquids after security, then there's no problem. If you bring fluids from home, then you will have to surrender these. So bring an EMPTY container in your carry-on to go through security.

You can. TSA has some restrictions but after you go through security, there will be plenty of places to buy food from so you can bring it on the plane.

um idk what you're talking about. i bring food (usually snack type food like pop tarts, cookies, chips.....) on the plane every time i fly.

Food is alright, just not liquid. I brought a subway sandwich through security, but the confiscated my water bottle. My advice, either A; bring an empty bottle with you, or B; buy one once you get through security. You never want to drink plain water from an airplane, or drink brewed Coffee or tea. The tanks on the plane that store the drinking water are never cleaned. Only drink stuff from a water bottle you SEE flight attendants poring from, or a can.
