  • Answer:

this was my job for almost a decade. 18 for some smaller airlines, 20 or 21 years of age to apply for most bigger or top airlines to apply. i recommend applying as soon as u turn 18 at ALL of the smaller airlines u can! here's what u need: to be american citizen or able to work in usa to speak read write english to lift up to 50 lbs, push and pull a high school ged or diploma at least preferable minimum 2 yrs (even part time) customer service work experience.... anything working with people! somewhere between 5'1 - 6'1 usually not handicapped not extremely obese jetblue.com is the best airline to work for for overall airline attitude, but NOT for pay..... or swa.com (southwest) for work, benefits, pay, relaxed attitudes.... i've heard good things about alaska airlines and frontier if u work for a smaller one like 70 seater jets or less, u will make jack.... unfortunately like $25,000/ year or less. u will NOT do it to get rich for sure haha... but for the experience til u can apply at the bigger airlines! u dont need any experience to go straight for the big airlines (northwest, continental, united, delta, american etc) just luck. even the wages starting out for those sucks the first 2 years, but goes up pretty decent after 3 years... u just have to be super flexible, super open-minded, and willing to adapt. that's the biggest thing they're looking for... a positive, winning attitude that u can think on your feet in any situation, treat people with respect and honest as possible and professional. u have to be mature at 18 to take on that job.. because u have your very own flight on a 50 seater jet or less to serve and everything of those passengers experience resides on YOU! it could be their first time flying or they could be scared to death... it's up to you to make them comfortable within the boundaries of your job! need any other info: email me lilac.mist@y
