I am considering paralegal training. Is there good online training anywhere.

Considering katana training?

  • All of my life, I have been interested in sword training. Specifically, the katana. Never, though, have I decided to go for it, and take a martial arts class for katana training. ...show more

  • Answer:

Find a school first and listen to their advice and recommendations. There are specifics that you are unaware of and will have to be instructed on when buying a sword for whatever style you decide to practice. There are a few different styles that train the Japanese sword, Kendo, Iaido, and Kenjutsu. These will also have different styles within their sections. Kendo - sport, Iaido - meditative drawing technique with little slashing and sparring, Kenjutsu - more multi-person interactive nonsport. EDIT - @ J. Thanks for the kind words. As far as pricing goes it is really dependent on the city, and school. Some classes will cost as little as $50 and some can go much much higher. Price doesn't always denote value just so you know. So really get a list of questions down to ask each instructor, and be sure to take your time and do your research. I'm romancing with the idea of taking several years down the road and training at the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu dojo.
