Why no debate on Global Warming or whatever the left calls it now? What happened to discussion of sound facts?

If you want to discuss "sound facts" that refute global warming, you're free to bring them to the table. I don't see anything such in your little tirade up there. AGW=man made global warming CC=man made global warming, and climatic shifts brought about by it People have always used the terms interchangeably to discuss global warming. This is nothing new. Notice that the title of this forum is "Global Warming." The hole in the ozone has little to do with the global warming theory. People were worried about that in the 80's, until the Montreal Protocol cut CFC emissions. AGW is about CO2 emissions, not CFC's. Hint hint, It's important to know what you're supposed to be refuting if you plan to refute something. There was no scientific consensus on Y2K. You might as well throw in the flying spaghetti monster and AID's denialism. 3 Mile Island, acid rain, and radon are all real--you don't think so? 1 degree, as anyone who knows anything about climatology knows, is significant.

If we don't change our ways now, no one will have to worry about spending trillions of dollars in the future, because there will be no people to spend it, and no planet to produce goods to spend money on.

Oh jeez. Gore wouldn't cut off the discussion, he would facilitate it. Gore knows perfectly well the status of the ozone layer. You want lawlessness? You want anarchy? I doubt it. And last I checked, the party in office spending money hand over fist is a conservative Republican. And he's initiated and invoked a few laws, some of which aren't exactly in line with the U.S. Constitution. Some facts below. Check them out in earnest, ask another question, and we can debate the facts point-by-point whenever you want. I'm left, I'm liberal, and sure, let's discuss this. Because I'd like to think I'm civilized enough to debate this issue with someone who presents a reasoned response. In point of fact, I try to do that on this site quite frequently.

It boils down to this the liberals are right...icebergs melt the entire east coast is underwater and the world economy collapses...or there wrong and we spend billions and go into a depression...neither looks good to me...

Because scientists have already been debating this for over 100 years. Just because it's new to people outside the field, doesn't mean it hasn't already been debated to death. Science is debated in peer reviewed scientific journals and at legitimate scientific conferences. The debate continues, over peripheral issues of global warming. But the fact that humans are increasing atmospheric CO2 levels and that is in turn raising the global temperature was long ago understood by climate scientists.
