    Sorry I don't have a technical answer for you, but something about singing from the thoracic diaphragm helps project the voice. I know different surfaces make your voice sound different. Singing in a small studio booth has a different sound than a small bathroom with tile walls and floor. If you sing in a shower with one of those sliding glass doors you get an even different effect.
