How do I cook my turkey?

Rinse it and dry with paper towels. Preheat your oven to 325 or 350. You need a pan that the breast fits into easily. It should not touch the sides. Sprinkle generously with salt pepper and garlic all over the skin of the bird. Place in the pan and put in the oven. Do NOT cover your bird. Never cover a turkey. It might have one of those little thingies that pops up when the meat is done. But time it anyway at 20 min. per pound. It wil say exactly how much your turkey weighs on the tag. You got to do a small amount of math.. If you want a honey glaze you must put the honey on when there is only 30 min. left for the turkey to cook. You need heavy mitts to take the turkey out of the oven. Then... Put 1 cup of honey in the microwave and heat it sightly. If too thick add some melted butter and stir it up. Paint it on the turkey skin. You CANNOT put honey on the skin of the turkey at the beginning because it wil end up burning. You turkey will be raw and the skin wil be burnt black. The last thirty minutes is the only way to do the honey thing. You can use orange marmalade mixed with honey too. We prefer it plain. Do not slice your turkey while it is hot from the oven. All your juiciness will escape in the form of steam when you cut into the hot meat. It will be dry as a bone. Wait about 30 min. AFTER you take it from the oven before you start slicing on it at all.

A good rule of thumb for turkey is 20 min. per pound @ 350 F when the bird is fully defrosted with a breast it's a little different

just put it in the microwave for 10 hours
