What job can I get with a business major?

Can I get the same job as an economics major, as the business admin. majors do?

• i.e. should I major in econ. or business? I would probably prefer econ., but will I be prepared enough for a top job? Something like consulting at McKinsey, or IB at Goldman Sachs.

  I know that when I would go to career expo's at my university, a bunch of companies I've networked with didn't have specific major requirements. They just wanted someone that had specific personal skills (communication, writing, leadership, etc.) I believe economics majors still have to take at least a few business courses. But if at your university they don't then I would consider on majoring in economics and taking the few basic business courses (accounting, management, marketing, b-law) as electives. Also, you should get involved in organizations or do community service so you have something to back your personal skills up as well.
