What is the most effective way for a Legal Studies student to get into the Legal Field?

  If you're in school, the best way to go about getting your foot in the door is to go to your placement department. Typically, most placement departments will have a list of potential employers looking for either part of full time employees. Sometimes, you can get internships with places (but be careful, sometimes they are not paid-but if money isn't an option, then go for it). The only issue is, is that currently, since it's rolling into summer, and schools are graduating and letting out for summer vacay, the job market starts getting flooded with potential employees (college kids). What I would suggest is going to your placement department and asking them to help you find a job, or you can always go to the typical job websites (monster, careerbuilder, etc.). One website that I found that really works well is called (www.indeed.com). Indeed not only searches jobs posted on monster and careerbuilder but also searches for jobs posted on companies websites and in local newspapers. You can also check in ith your local governing offices (municipal courts, county courts, DA's Office, etc.) Most of their interships are paid (not well tho) but you really get your foot in the door with the experience from them.
