If you had unlimited money, which TV series would you improve, save from cancellation or create a spin-off for?
-
Let's say you are given unlimited money, which you can only use in three ways: 1. Choose one TV series that is currently airing and give it unlimited budget, so that it can have the best special effects possible. (As you may know, many series, especially sci-fi and fantasy ones, are often forced to discard some awesome ideas because the props, sets or CGI they would require would be beyond their budgets.) 2. Choose a second TV series that has been cancelled due to low ratings without being given the chance to get a proper ending (for example, the last episode ended with a cliffhanger, or maybe solved some questions but introduced new ones) and allow it to continue airing for as many seasons as needed, eventually getting a proper ending. In the latter case, assume that all of the original cast and crew are available and willing to continue working on the series, and there is a major network willing to air it (or you could just broadcast it on the web for free - remember, you have unlimited budget and your goal is not to make a profit but to save a TV series.) 3. Choose a third TV series (cancelled or not) and create a spin-off for it, which could be a prequel, a sequel, or focus only on a few characters. Note that in each case you will only be providing a budget to the original show creators, which will be given full creative freedom. You will have no say on any matter and will take no part in the series as a producer, director, writer, actor or anything else. This also applies to the third case, where you can specify what you want the spin-off to be about, in one sentence (for example: an origin story for one of the characters), but you must leave it to the show creators to write the story itself. (This is because I want this discussion to be about series that you would like to support, not about what you would like to change about them; that is a completely different discussion.) So, which series would you choose to improve, which would you choose to save from cancellation, which would you choose to create a spin-off for and what would the spin-off be about? Explain your reasons.

Answer:
For the first case, I would pick Lost Girl because it tells a story about being an outcast in a society and LGBT relationship implicitly. For second case, I would go with Fringe. This show has great dynamics between main characters which create a paradox and there's full of science stuff that you didn't know science could (theoretically) do that. For the last one, I would create a another spinoff on Buffy: Faith - The Rogue Slayer. This character has changed so much that there is more story to tell about her but sadly there is not enough screen time for her (unless you read Buffy comics).
