What do I have to do to become a medical assistant?

I am starting to take a program to become a clinical medical assistant next month. What can I expect the job?

  Not anything like school was. Most likely you'd be working in a Dr.'s office or clinic. It's a very fast paced job that requires alot of multi-tasking. As well as interaction with people from all walks of life with all different problems, attitudes, etc.. Hours and sometimes the entire day at a stretch without breaks. Doesn't really pay all that great for the work you do. But if money isn't the issue, and you're doing it because you like helping people and can handle the "rush" of it all, it could be a great job for you. Average pay is about $7-10/hr average.
