Yes, a computer engineer can work as an IT professional As long as you have some software knowledge. I'd imagine computer engineering would have you well versed in the hardware and programming aspects, so I see no problem. ...and yes, you can work in any industry. I once interviewed for a position with a symphony orchestra. They had an entire IT department. Who knew? lol
