Yes it can. It sounds like you may be allergic to the spider bite. When a person is allergic to something their throat and tongue will swell and it will be hard to swallow. I get like that when I get stung by Hornets and Yellow Jackets. It is a Allergic reaction you are having. Take a benedryl and it will start to get better. Benedryl is for Allergies.
