You saved your children and calmly called 911 and filled a bag with your things which is about your trying to save the parts of yourself that you consider precious. The firemen didn't make it in time and the house burnt down which meant that you are not convinced that you can save yourself before you melt down. The dream is telling you that you are suppressing emotions in your waking life that will cause you to have a melt down. The good news is that you saved the most precious parts of yourself from the "fire" that will be able to pick up the pieces. You were probably calm in the dream because, on some level, you knew this was coming.

You are handling things well under normal circumstances, but when thing become abnormal, you freak. I think most of us would. There is a situation at hand which worries you, the fire.
