Phone the local Sheriff. But the law seems pretty clear; no locking knives in UK. Why don't you get a fixed blade knife for camping? You could probably borrow one from the kitchen. See this video (Ohio USA) and notice the $3 garage sale knife, which is similar to what most of the Pioneers carried into the wilderness.

Knife laws vary from state to state. There is a lot of bad information out there.In my state there are no restrictions on locking blades.Again in my state it depends on what you are doing with the knife.
