How do you update system software for the PSP?

PSP 1000 series System software 2.71 update to 3.40 to 3.90 problem?

i have just bought it today need some info how to update it into a higher version 3.40 perhaps or 3.90 dont really know what are the steps to do first...really need help on this ...show more

First go to settings (you need to have wireless Internet )Then go to network update.then you will need to make a connection.when you get access to the network it will look up the lat-es update.when it fiends it ,some thing will come out and you will have to choose one.then when it finishes downloading it will be ready to update.if it does not have at lees 85% of battery live you will need to put the charger .if it gets you out of the update you will just have to go to .game/saved data utility and the update will be there then you will know what to do.
