How can less car smog help stop pollution?

hybrids with the AT-PZEV rating have no evaporative emissions (no gas evaporating from the fuel system) and 99% fewer emissions than standard cars. there are other cars listed with low emissions- not all are hybrids- and those will also help reduce smog. it's very logical. cars that emit standard amounts of emissions will add to the smog problem much more quickly than low-emissions cars.

Car smog is made up of Carbon monoxide and that causes a positive feedback loop in the atmosphere. It reacts with VOCs and with sunlight can cause photochemical smog which lingers over heavy populated cities. Lowering smog emisions does't stop pollution it slows it down by lowering the amount of smog emited by each car.

As stated above, smog is pollution in a more visible form. There is no such thing as a commercially viable solar energy car either. Hybrid vehicles help cut down pollution, especially in urban settings where theres a lot of stop and go driving.
