If the school supplies all the equipment and the internet, I think it gives them some clout on what you are allowed to access on it, don't you? The reason it's done is because you are at school to learn, not play around on social sites and messaging services. Also why should you subject their systems to threats, viruses, Trojans and all the other crap? Have you any idea how much it costs in time and money to purge a system after you have infected it?
