    You cannot reliably and safely uninstall messenger because certain files are integral to Windows. If you want to permanantly stop it from running when Windows boots up then do this... (This is based on an XP machine) <<<BE VERY VERY CAREFULL WHEN USING THE SERVICES APPLICATION... You could disable Windows completely if you mess around - use at your own risk.>>> Goto Control Panel and find Administrative Tools, then click on Services In the right hand panel you have a list of installed services on your machine, just find Messenger and disable it. This will stop it from running. Full stop. It does not remove it from your computer. Hope this helps.

I have tried to get rid of it and have removed it in add remove programs but it keeps coming back Gods knows how but it is bloody anoying.
