Open the GMAIL in firefox and change the preference to always load in BASIC HTML FORMAT and save changes... Now try to open in CHROME, I does not works .. reinstall the chrome.. :)

What is the error your are getting? Did you try clearing the browser cache. Click the Tools tools menu menu. Select Options. Click the Personal Stuff tab. Click Clear browsing data.
