Answer:
No such thing as a "girls board" or "mens board" ... just marketing hype and different topsheet designs. The board cant tell what gender you are. Best of luck and have fun riding :> quote from a very reputable snowboard brand: We don't make "women's-specific" boards for good reason: there's no such thing. Sex is of no consequence when choosing a snowboard. The factors that matter are height, weight, boot size, and riding style. The rest is just marketing hype.

you should get a girls snowboard obviously, it will be better designed for your body. that's the whole point. you're starting out, people will be looking at your wipeouts more than what your board looks like. no one is really going to look at your board. you're new. and it depends on how much of a beginner you are. have you ridden and gotten basics down, such as linking your turns and little stuff like that or you are just now buying your own board, or have you literally never boarded before.

Actually, there is a difference between men and womens boards. Despite what the others have said. For starters, mens boards are usually wider to accommodate larger foot sizes. It's not something you can overlook as it plays a major role in how the board will handle under your feet. Too narrow and your catch your toes/heel while turning. Too wide and you'll be sluggish edge to edge. Mens board are also a bit stiffer than the comparable womens model, which could make them a bit harder for you to handle. Women usually size down when going with a mens board because as you size down boards tend to get narrower and easier to control. Couldn't you just link us the board you're talking about?

Whether a board is guys or girls board doesn't really matter. What's important is whether the length and shape of the board suits your weight and riding style. Girls boards are usually shorter because girls tend to be lighter; and have more girly topsheet designs and that's about it. If you like the design on a guys board, then that's what you should get. It won't make a difference on the snow. Have fun!
