Snowboarding boot size?

  • Is there a size difference in snowboarding and your regular shoe size? Like I wear a size 7.5 in mens, but would I have to get a different size with my snowboarding boots when I ...show more

  • Answer:

no, not really, but if your are ordering boots make sure you can return or exchange them. Different brands fit differently, so some may run big, and some may be fine, but the size number isn't the whole picture. Some are wide some are narrow, and everyone's foot is different. I would recommend going to a shop and trying on as many different models as you can to find out which ones fit you best. For example, I don't like Burton, for me, because my heel feels like it is slipping, adn 32's pinch and DC's are to narrow. I ended up with a pair of Salomon's that feel pretty good, but your foot is not my foot, another brand may fit you better. Always try boots on, cause ill fitting boots can ruin your day.

I have to agree with the other guy. You should never a buy a boot that you have not tried on. The boot is the most important part of your gear because you will be in them for upto 8 hours a day and really need to be comfortable. Most boots size down meaning that if your normal size were a 10, your snowboarding boot size will prolly be 9.5 or so. Thats how it is for me. When I buy boots I spend at least half an hour in the store trying them on and walking around in them. Last year when I bought my boots I must have spent a good hour and half at the store trying on many different pairs to make sure I get the one that best fits my feet. Then after I got home, I wore the new one on one leg and my old ones on the other to see how different they felt. I cant stress enough the importance of a good fit on the boot. If theres one part of your gear where you shouldnt cut corners its your boot. My recomendation is to try on the boots in the store and find what model size you like and then buy em online. It will piss off the ppl helping you in the store but screw em, they get paid anyways. Do not buy your shoes without trying them, even if they have a return policy, because you cant get the convenience of trying on different pairs in online purchase that you can in a store. Hope this helps. Good luck.
