    i wuddant buy skates yet, they can be expensive and u dnt know how long ur gonna stick with it. if u do buy skate, go with ridells like blue ribbon or personally, i like jackson freestyles for beginner.

If your just taking your first class then you shouldn't buy skates right away. You don't really know if you are going to stick with it yet and skates are very expensive. Once you've decided that you are going to stick with skating I would recommend Jackson skates. They are good for people with wide feet but they come in different widths if your feet are narrower. They are really comfortable and a good quality. You should go to a pro shop though and try on different brands of skates just to see which brand fits your feet best. Good Luck!
