Do links from social media/networking websites (Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube) help increase your pagerank?

Advertising on social networking sites is a phenominal idea to help promote your service/product/website. I guarantee that you will find thousands of people that are interested in whatever your niche is. As far as helping rankings and inbound link totals, I don't think it will help too much. Take facebook for instance. In order to view the page you need to be signed in and in some cases a member of the same network. I also believe that most links on facebook would be 'no follow'. Therefore, while social networking sites will probably not help your pagerank or backlinks any, they will definitely help drive loads of targetted traffic to your site.
