What is the shelter in northern canada?

Houses. I live near Dawson City, Yukon, a community which is about 1/3 native. They have their own company, Han Construction, which is the major house builder in the area. They have even won awards for their houses. They build for the native community, but, also the non-native one, as they are the main builders here. Not all native groups have their own construction company, but, they all live in houses. When they go out on the land to hunt, they would do the same as non-natives - bring a tent. In the far north, there are a handful of people who know how to build an igloo still, but, they never live in them (you can't; there isn't snow all year round anywhere in Canada). Even the Canadian Ranger patrols in these remote communities will use tents though, on patrol.
