Nigeria: How long does it take to get accross Third main Land Bridge during an evening rush hour?

Between 1-2hours normally depending on the time exactly you leave. If there is ANY kind of accident (no matter how minor), or a car breakdown, you will have to add at *least* another 1hour. But if you leave between 5-5.30pm, you can easily make it in 30minutes Third mainland bridge is about 12KM.

Pl count Friday evening as weekend. The clog is particularly severe on friday evening coming from island to mainland. Normal days after 6 pm, reckon to spend about an hour crossing the bridge

Normally about 20-30 mins. Rush hours, weekends, holidays etc 30 mins-2 hrs. If your guardian angels are particularly upset with you, you may get stuck for upto 3 hrs. Your car AC better be working.

During 1981 to 1993, it used to be 90-100 mins from Ikeja to Victoria Island, via Third Mainland Bridge....during office hours.

If you are going away from the mainland, it should only take you 20 - 30 minutes as you are against rush-hour mainland-bound traffic (5 -7pm). The rest of my answer will focus on mainland-bound traffic flow.Crossing the 3rd Mainland Bridge between 5 - 7pm can take anywhere between 30 mins and 4 hours. I usually expect an hour 30 minutes of traffic.Over the past 2 weeks, I've completed the journey in 45 minutes (in more than half the times I tried) but it took 3 hours the very last time I tried.

I have lived in Gbagada which is just after the 3rd Mainland bridge for close to 3 years now and I work on Marina which means I have crossed that bridge every working day except for 22 working days of leave and here is my view of how long it takes to cross : - During an Evening rush with no major event at most 45 minutes - During an Evening rush with major event(mostly Fridays) 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours (nothing less than an hour) The Maximum time you can spend on 3rd mainland bridge this days is 2 hours worst case scenario thanks to the help of Road Traffic wardens who always on hand to resolve any issues or an incident of broken down vehicles

If at 5pm you have made it to obalende just before you leap into the bridge, then the drag could be 35-40ins max. If you make it to obalende before the bridge leap in, you'll do an hour = 10 mins, anytihng from 7pm, you will do above 2 hours in the drag. thats the peak. And if the devil decides to keep an eye out on that day, then you may as well sleep on it.. i.e2hr 30 mins and more.

This is a bridge I have practically taken my time to study.1. The length of Third Mainland Bridge is 11.8 km2. On a very very free road (like on a sunday) it takes between 5-10 minutes drive across the bridge3. On a weekday (before the rush hour) it takes an averave of 20 mins to drive accross the bridge4. During rush hour (Monday morning, going to the island) it takes an average time of 1 hour, 30 minutes5. Evening weekdays rush hour takes an average of between 45 minutes to 1 hour, 5 minutes.6. If there is a major event (road fixing, accident, tanker fall, etc) it can take up to 5 hour or more.
