You might want to go back and read through some of the homeschooling archives here on yahoo answers. It looks like the "anti-homeschooling socialization police" are out in full force this week. Also look online for you state's homeschooling groups and HSLDA. You'll find truthful answers from actual homeschoolers, not opinions from those who know nothing about homeschooling and our using your painful situation as their chance to make their narrow-minded thoughts public.

While you are young and might not fully understand what is involved in home school, this is an important time in your life to socialize. If you are in the habit of avoiding confrontation you will have difficulty later on in life for sticking up for yourself. You are now, in the fact that you allow your mother to make all your decisions. Both you and your mother need to have a non confrontational, unemotional sit down and work out a plan to allow you to do what you enjoy. Is there some reason for your mother's aversion to not wanting you to sing and dance, act in a play, You can also be a stage crew or director, make up, lighting ? Make sure she is convinced this is secondary to your education and a needed outlet for your enrichment and pleasure. Write out a plan, Pros/Cons, needs/wants. Really think this out before the sit down. Talk to a counselor, music and drama teachers at school and get their input. Search the web and newspapers for auditions in your area. Just go to watch and get the feel of what it takes. What do you expect out of it ? Be practical and realistic in your ideas. Look at all the people who try out for American Idol who in their minds think they are good and in reality really stink. Don't waste your time with unreasonable expectations. Who knows, later your talents are worth pursuing. It takes many hours of practice and training to be able to make a living at it. You might be a good teacher. Talented, but not exceptionally so or enough to make a living at it any other way. Also, please proofread your writing and make sure it has proper spelling, English usage, punctuation, capitalization, etc. This is one area you need to be proficient with. You won't be taken seriously otherwise. It shows you don't care enough to do this well and people will get the idea you are not careful or intelligent enough to be taken seriously. Use spell checker at every opportunity. Better yet, know how to spell without it. Many of the words you misspelled should have learned in 3 grade and should not be making these mistakes in the 7th grade. Good luck in your pursuits.

Well your mother may have other reasons for not letting you be home schooled. Just try signing up for regular courses instead of advanced classes to help reduce the workload of homework. Then try joining your school's drama club and take a choir class. If your mom doesn't approve of you acting and singing, just because of the cost, those are free/cheaper alternatives. If you want to loose weight, try eating healthier foods instead of junk foods. Pack fresh fruit instead of chips for lunches and things of that sort. (also, increase the veggie portion of your meals and decrease the meat portion) If you just want to be home schooled just because people are mean, just listen to your ipod/do homework on the bus and pay attention to your classes instead of socializing. Also, during lunch, you could get a head start on that day's homework to give you a lot more free time at home. Trust me, being home schooled is NOT that awesome. I was home schooled for most of my life, and I HATED it. I had nearly no communication with the outside world, and I missed out on a lot of things throughout my elementary and middle school career. Not to mention drama club and choir classes can help you get into a college for performing arts. ;)

Do you really think YOU are so special that nobody else has had a problem of acceptance. One of the things those losers who are HOME SCHOOLED don't have is LEARNING HOW TO HANDLE SOCIAL SITUATIONS... I can honestly say that EVERY HOMESCHOOLED PERSON I have EVER KNOWN.. have almost NO PERSONALITY and they can NOT HANDLE SOCIAL SITUATIONS.. they become very INTROVERTED and afraid to DEAL WITH OTHERS... GO TO SCHOOL and quit trying to GET OUT OF IT.. or you will be a LOSER ALL YOUR LIFE.. and one with a POOR EDUCATION, besides.
