    My brother had a GED and the Marie Corps made him jump through all kinds of hoops to get enlisted and he still didn't get in. So getting a GED is not the way to go. You are right getting a GED at this point would give you all kinds of trouble. Have you contacted HSLDA? They can give you advise as to what might help and any other information your recruiter needs. Also ask the recruiter for the other branches if they have gone through something similar and what they did to make things happen for their recruits. I know its tough but hang in there you'll make it! Semper Fi!

I'm not sure of the specifics but a friend of mine was homeschooled his entire life and joined the USMC when he was 18. Finding a better recruiter might be a good idea.

Why don't you just take the GED tes?. That way you hve an accredited program saying that you have the basic skills you need. If your mom did a good job, you should pass the GED test with no problem and your recruiter will have a standardized to comfirm your abilities.
