How much is a train ticket in Amtrak from DC's Union Station to Manhattans Penn Station?

    Be aware that Amtrak operates two classes of trains between Washington Union Station and New York Penn Station. If you are wealthy or are traveling on an expense account, you would probably want to ride on the extra-fare Acela Express trains. If you are paying out of your own pocket, you would probably want to ride the standard fare Northeast Regional train. The exact price depends upon when you are traveling, and how far in advance you purchase the ticket. I just looked on their website for the morning of January 28th, and found one-way fares ranging from $82 (for an early morning Northeast Regional train) to a high of $249 (for an Acela Express).
