How do I get rid of tracking cookies manually?

I have deleted cookies in Internet Explorer, but AVG still detects tracking cookies. How do I get rid of them?

AVG isn't that great. Uninstall it and install Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows is dumb and stores cookies all over the place. You can try going into IE or Chrome or whatever and doing a Control-Shift-Delete to clean up things. Or go to http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard and download Crap Cleaner (Ccleaner). Any antivirus software that can't delete/clean things in system folders is junk. It should at least offer to clean it on restart.
