Should I rent a car on my beach weekend in Phuket?

Taxi is incredibly expensive . Public transport is nearly non existence. Phuket has so many wonderful beaches, restaurants, clubs, etc. Without a car you are dependent on overpriced taxis. I live in Thailand since 10 years and on my trips to Phuket I use Mobile Car Rental . The cars are new, the staff is on time and reliable. Service was always perfect. Driving in Thailand is not a good idea particularly if you have an accident. Liability is very different to home and the driver who has most money is usually at fault. Check your travel insurance as most do not cover motorbikes. Have an accident on a motorbike and you could end up paying a fortune to get home. Use taxis.
