The Bt4 can use the a5's flatline after a little tweaking, which is a nice advantage. Also, in sub zero temperatures the a5's cyclone feed will simply blender your paint without the soft paddle upgrade. I have both and love both, but prefer my a5 for most of the year. The a5 is solid, cheap and upgradable, but like i said you cant use it in the winter without upgrades. The x7 is the a5's bigger brother, but most of the "upgrades" are cosmetic, and do not merit the higher price or improve performance; unless you are interested in more advanced upgrades, which at your level are just a waste of money. The bt4 was my choice in your situation, and i have not been disappointed. As always though, go to your local shop or field and handle the guns, see what feels right for you, all the guns mentioned have been solid performers, its just up to your needs and preference. Hope this helps!

C3pnis has an interesting idea, but you should go a step further. the A5 was good for a while but i will have to recommend the X7: the A5's bigger brother. first there was the 98 custom, which was the the most customizable gun in the world...for a while. then the A5 came along with it's cyclone feed system. but now, it seems like the 98 is a sharpened rock compared to the precision laser that the X7 is. it is the best tactical marker around, hands down. if you want the most customizable marker in the world, the Tippmann X7 is it. it is a woodsball gun however, not really a speedball kind of gun. so you might want to consider that. as well, what ever you get, i highly suggest getting a J&J ceramic barrel for it. the X7 uses an A5 threaded barrel. just go to the tippmann website and check it out for yourself.

The BT-4 is a nice marker. I don't use one, but I know people who do, and are quite happy with it. However, I can't help but recommend the marker I use, which is the Tippmann A-5. It is the most reliable marker on the market... period. I've fired over 20,000 rounds through mine, and I have still yet to see a barrel break, or a chopped ball. If you get a lot of rain where you live, you'll like the cyclone feed system- it's non electric, but capable of feeding up to 17 balls per second. Also, the A-5 is the most upgradable marker out there. If you want a faster rate of fire, but wish to keep the marker all mechanical, then you can install a response trigger kit (or just buy one with the kit already installed)... Or if you want to push the cyclone to its limits, you can always install an electrical board. There are many other upgrades available which will improve the marker's performance as well. There are also about a zillion non-performance-enhancing upgrades available as well, if looking cool is important to you. If you want your A-5 to look just like an AK-47, for example, you can have that. What I like about the A-5 is, you can drop in a puddle, pick it up and keep firing. You can neglect the hell out of this marker and it will still be reliable. So if you hate doing maintenance, then this is the marker for you.
