Hi adam if money is the problem then forget a multiplier as cheap ones tend to tangle the line during a cast. till you can afford a proper one just use the spinning type reel large ones can take lots of heavy line just like and other. and i would guess you are used to one of those. this is the issue the cheap ones have no brakes which can be applied without any precision so the line gets tangled up.
