  TONS of ways to do this... Depends on if your bait is a dough, wet, hard, moist... Whatever. Those are extremely hard to set the hook. So many times I go to set the hook and I rip it out of it's mouth b/c it just slides out. ALSO, remedies and what not: Cotton. Mix cotton into your bait (if it's doughy or whatever). This will make your bait stringy. Spread your cotton and rip it apart the best you can as you mix it in... This will hold it and the bait on the hook VERY good. Some people say soft animal hair helps hold bait on hooks... Got a cat or bunny you can shave? (just kidding, seriously) If it's something hard, and it won't wrap good around a treble hook, not even one like this: http://image.basspro.com/images/images2/82000/82404a-t.jpg I'd say use a regular hook or a hook like this with the curve sticking out: http://www.fishing.sh/htmfiles/hookreports/images/snelltie.jpg and just hook directly through your bait getting as much of the hook inside the bait as possible (so the bait can't just be bit on the end and ripped off).
