Does reel weight matter or no for surf and pier fishing?

What spinning reel should i buy for bass fishing and surf fishing?

maybe even some pier fishing. i can spend some money on a good reel but nothing over the top..maybe $80 tops. would a 6'6" ugly stick be a good choice? thank you. i want a ...show more

Ugly Stik's are not sensitive at all. The Ugly Stik Lite would be better in the sensitivity category. One of the Lite's in 7' M or MH with a Pflueger President 6735 would be great.
