Issan Thai is spoken in the northeast by Thais and Laotians. If you get into a taxi your probably speaking to a person from Issan and if you say SABAI DEE instead of SAWAT DEE you'll get a little smile.. Below are a few sentences with both Thai and Issan pronunciations. Sok Dee Enjoy your trip.

go to Youtube, search under "thai lesson", there are few interesting videos teaching us how to speak Thai.

Thats a good idea, Even if you get it wrong, Thai's love it when you try to speak their language. Google "Thai language" or "speak Thai" or any words like that. At the hotel when you check in , speak English. you will not know enough Thai for checking in, but for fun at bars restuarants ETC you will enjoy
